Three sides of Bali in one trip
This is the trip for you who want to experience more than just one beach. In twelve days you get culture and nature in Ubud, calm on Lembongan and energy in Canggu. The combination gives you variety without stress. You move through Bali at a natural pace, where each stop has its own feeling.
Ubud – culture, nature and a calm start
When you land at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, a journey of about 1–1.5 hours to Ubud awaits, depending on traffic. The road winds away from the coast and into greenery, villages and small temples along the way.
Ubud is Bali’s cultural centre, but also a place where it is easy to simply be. Here you stroll between art galleries, craft shops and cafés serving everything from local home-style food to modern interpretations of Indonesian cuisine. Take a morning walk along the Campuhan Ridge Walk, visit the famous rice terraces in Tegallalang or book a bike tour through the villages outside the centre. Days are best started early and ended slowly.
When it is time to move on, the journey continues to the harbour in Sanur, about 45–60 minutes from Ubud.
Lembongan – salty skin and slow days
From Sanur, the speedboat takes you over to Lembongan in about 30–45 minutes. It is a short trip, but the feeling changes immediately when you step ashore.
Lembongan is smaller, calmer and more relaxed. Here, the days are all about the sea. Snorkel over coral reefs, swim from the cliffs at Devil’s Tear or rent a scooter and ride between small beaches and viewpoints. In the afternoon, many gather on the beach to watch the sun sink into the sea. Three nights here give you time to really unwind.
When it is time to leave the island, the speedboat goes back to Sanur, about 30–45 minutes. From there it is about 1–1.5 hours further to Canggu, depending on traffic.
Canggu – surf, flavours and evenings by the sea
Canggu is Bali’s more creative and lively side. Here surfers, digital nomads and holidaymakers meet in a relaxed mix. The beaches are wide with dark sand and suit both beginners who want to try surfing and those who would rather sit with a coconut in hand and watch the waves.
Between beach visits there are plenty of restaurants, small shops and cafés to discover. Have dinner with your feet in the sand, book a yoga class or end the day at a beach bar when the sun goes down. It is a nice contrast to Ubud’s greenery and Lembongan’s stillness.
Practical information
Best time to travel:
May to October has drier weather and pleasant temperatures. You can travel all year round, but expect short rain showers between November and March.
How to get around:
Transfers can be booked between the airport and your accommodation as well as between accommodations during the trip before you complete your booking with Sembo. The ferry cost between Bali and Lembongan is not included in the price of the trip.
A package tour and a linked arrangement offer travellers different booking processes but provide the same protection under the Package Travel Act, ensuring customer rights and peace of mind during the trip.
