Rhodes & Symi in perfect harmony
Imagine a journey where you get the best of two worlds: luxury and pulse by the seaside in Rhodes, tranquil Greek island romance on Symi, and then back to the charm of civilization for a final dose of culture and enjoyment. That's exactly what awaits on this fabulous tour through the Greek archipelago - where the sunsets are as golden as the ouzo is cold.
The start in Rhodes - luxury life at Alila
The journey begins in Rhodes, the largest of the Greek Dodecanese and an island that offers both history and high life. From the airport, you can easily take a taxi or transfer to the five-star Mitsis Selection Alila Resort & Spa located directly on the beach in Faliraki. Here, four nights of pure relaxation await.
At Alila, it's all-inclusive for real. You wake up to the sound of the Aegean Sea's soft waves, start the day with a breakfast buffet that never seems to end, and then spend hours by the infinity pool or down on the hotel's private beach. Want to move around? Take a trip into Rhodes town and stroll around in the UNESCO-protected old town - a medieval labyrinth of small streets, hidden taverns, and the wings of history.
On to Symi - where time stands still
After four nights in luxury, it's time to change pace. From Rhodes town, you take one of the daily ferries to Symi, the small neighboring island that is just over an hour away. The journey itself is an experience - leave Rhodes behind you and see how Symi's pastel-colored houses start to tower up like a backdrop from an old movie.
Here you check in for three nights at one of the island's charming hotels. On Symi, the days go by slowly. You eat long lunches at taverns where the sea's catch is served directly from the boat to the plate. You swim from cliffs or small hidden coves with crystal clear water. Maybe you take a boat trip to the Panormitis monastery or hike up to Chorio, the small village above the harbor, where the view is as magical as the local honey.
Please note that ferry tickets between Rhodes and Symi are additional, and we recommend booking them in advance during high season.
Ferry frequency April-September:
During the high season (April-September) there are several daily departures, often between 3-6 trips per day in each direction. The most active months are June-August, when there may be even more.
End in Rhodes town - city pulse by the beach
After the tranquility on Symi, the ferry goes back to Rhodes, and now two nights await at the Mitsis Petit Palais Beach Hotel - a charming city hotel right by the beach, yet just a stone's throw from the old town. Here it is perfect to end the trip with a final dose of culture and shopping. Walk on the city walls, shop for ceramics and jewelry in the alleys, and enjoy a last dinner at one of Rhodes' gourmet restaurants.
During the day, you can alternate city life with beach hangout - Elli Beach is right next to the hotel and offers clear water and sun loungers for the last hours in the sun.
How to get around:
Airport to Mitsis Alila: Taxi or private transfer, about 30 minutes.
Alila to Symi: Taxi to Rhodes port (20 min), then ferry to Symi (about 1 hour).
